showcase of my nude photographs
After the class, our mentor, Jamie, pulled 10 of his students to make a showcase at Hanoi doclab on the projectors. we are very inexperienced. Me, and many have never experience with color correction or using the Lightroom. In fact, I even do not know how to use photoshop. To be honest, I dont like it. I dont feel that I am patient enough to work on photoshop. Jamie actually selected among photos I sent him and did that work too. Here is the sequence he created to show my work. I think it is pretty quick to see on the projector. The cover photo used to introduce my work. it is only one that might not violate the FB's community standard.
A photographer from Singapore said he saw the consistency of this collection while the other said he loves the human aspect of these photograph. I feel overwhelmed by acknowledging there is so much work to do to create one photograph, even after you take it. Then, there are alot about writing and selecting and arranging photographs together that I am not sure if I even been adequate or abe to do so :(
(PS: my friend who was also my collaborator in making the Queer/sexuality Lexicon wrote this when he learnt about this work: Nhung thôi vẽ bướm/Nhung stops drawing butterflies
Nhung đi tìm chim/Nhung is looking for birds
cánh chim lạc đàn/lost birds
thôi đi tìm bạn/stop looking for mates
rơi xuống bãi bồi/landed in this field
thành người đơn côi.../turn into lonely men
